THE WEST AFRICAN EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL PRIVATE MAIL BAG NO. 1022,  YABA - LAGOS, NIGERIA STAFF VACANCIES The West African Examinations Council invites applications from suitably qualified Nigerians to fill the under-mentioned vacancies in its Nigeria National Office. 1. ASSISTANT REGISTRARS QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Applicants must hold good University Degrees (at least Second Class Honours) in any of the under-mentioned subject areas: - English Language - Economics - Geography - Mechanical Engineering (with bias in Auto-Mechanics) - Yoruba Language - Igbo Language - Physics - Physical Education - Home Economics (with bias in Foods & Nutrition/Clothing & Textiles) - Literature-In-English - Business Education (with bias in Commerce) Possession of higher degrees in Educational Measurement and Evaluation would be an added advantage. Applicants should have at least three years post-qualification teaching experience. 2. COMPUTER ANALYSTS/PROGRAMMERS QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE (a) Applicants must have a minimum of B.Sc (Hons) degree, Second Class (Lower Division) or equivalent in Computer Science from a recognized University or Polytechnic with at least three years post NYSC cognate experience. (b) Applicants should have functional knowledge of at least three of the following languages: Visual Basic, Visual Foxpro, Cobol, C++, Pascal and Fortran 77. (c) Applicants should also be familiar with the following operating systems: MS- Dos, Windows 2000/NT, OS/400, Open VMS and RPG. Knowledge of the following applications will be an added advantage. (i) Data Base Management - SQL Server 2000 and Oracle
(ii) Data Base Management - SQL Server 2000 and Oracle (iii) Network Management - Network and Web Design. 3. HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICERS QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Applicants must hold good University Degrees (at least Second Class Honours) in the Humanities, Social Sciences and Relevant Disciplines. Possession of higher degrees in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations and Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN) would be an added advantage. Applicants must have at least three (3) years cognate experience and must possess good communication and analytical skills. 4. MEDICAL OFFICER QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Applicants must possess MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized University. Must have been fully registered by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. Applicants should have minimum of two (2) years post NYSC experience in a well- structured clinical environment. Candidates for all the positions, must in addition to their degrees and professional qualifications, possess five credits including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings in WASSCE/GCE O/Level/SSCE and should not be more than 40 years old. 5.    SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE The salaries paid by the Council are very attractive.  Point of entry into the salary scales will depend on qualifications and experience. The successful candidates will enjoy very good remuneration package that is in line with the Council's Conditions of Service and will also be assured of full career development within the Organisation. 6.     MODE OF APPLICATION Application forms are obtainable from the Deputy Director (HRM), 4 Hagley Street, Yaba or any of the Council's Zonal/Branch Offices in Nigeria. Completed application forms must be addressed to The Registrar, W.A.E.C., PMB 1022, Yaba or returned by hand through any of the Council's Offices in Nigeria and marked for the attention of the Deputy Director (HRM). The forms should be accompanied by two stamped self-addressed envelopes
